Everything changed for me my freshman year of high school. I was in a bad four-wheeling accident that left me unable to walk for 6 months. I felt lost in those months because my identity as an athlete slowly was slipping away as I watched everyone else practice with me on the sidelines. In some of my toughest moments both mentally and physically I realized that I wanted to help people the way I was helped for the rest of my life.
Fast forward to my junior year of college I was at Ohio State studying athletic training. One morning I woke up and didn't recognize the girl staring back at me in the mirror. I realized I was living for everyone but myself and that's when I decided to make a change.
I dedicated an entire summer to focusing on bettering myself.
For me.. that started in the gym.
I can truly say that getting in the gym helped me regain my confidence, tap into an potential I didn't realize I had, and ultimately change my life for the better.
It's my mission to help people tap into their full potential both mentally and physically to help them realize they are capable of so much more than they ever realized... just like I had to.
I graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Athletic Training. At Ohio State I worked clinically with the women's basketball team, football team, track and field team, and high school teams in the areas of injury prevention, rehabilitation, and evaluation. During that time I also interned at multiple strength and conditioning facilities coaching all ages from youth athletes to adult fitness.
My senior year is when my fitness competitor journey began. I have competed in five different bikini bodybuilding shows, three powerlifting meets, one powerbuilding meet, obstacles courses, and one half marathon. I push myself in all areas of fitness to show others they can do the same.
I am in the midst of pursuing a graduate degree in Allied Medicine with a primary focus in Functional Neurology from The Ohio State University. I am a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer here in Ohio. I am also a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and Correctives Exercise Specialist. I have taken courses in Integrated Kinetic Neurology and Reflexive Performance Rest. My obsession with the neurological wiring of the brain and how it pertains to movement keeps me seeking more!
I recently was the lead strength and conditioning performance coach for Bo Jackson's Elite Sports softball program where young girls range from 2nd grade to going off the college. I also led leadership seminars for Bo Jackson's Elite Sports and corporate teams.
Due to my clinical experience, biomechanical and rehabilitation principles are the core of my training in the weight room for myself and others that I train. It is my passion to work with all ages to lead them to be better versions of themselves.
